MITRE's Enterprise Network Services department is seeking an Intermediate Applied Cybersecurity Engineer to help manage, maintain, and grow our corporate security infrastructure. Roles & Responsibilities:
Manage sustainment & operations ticket queue including triage and resolution of security issues
Coordinate with corporate information security regarding operational changes to security policy
Assist senior engineers with developing methods to increase operational efficiency
Collaborate with team and department technical staff regarding operational changes
Participate in 24x7 on call rotation to assist in resolving issues outside normal business hours
Participate in assisting triage efforts for operational events
Manage individual projects and identify areas of improvement
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
3+ years of general IT, network, or security experience
Exposure to basic programming, such as Python or Rust
Have familiarity with core internet technologies
Previous exposure to at least one industry vendor such as Palo Alto Networks or Juniper Networks
Introduction to working with cloud security solutions (Primarily Azure and AWS)
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S Government issued Security Clearance. Per the U.S. Government's eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Knowledge of network topologies including switching, routing, and associated protocols
Experience with Python, Ansible, or other automation technologies/products
Previous experience with industry vendors such as Palo Alto Networks, Juniper, Azure and Splunk
Possess industry security certifications such as Security+, PCNSA, CCNA, Azure Security Engineer Associate, etc.
Active Secret Clearance
Salary compensation range and midpoint: $129,200 - $161,500 - $193,800 Annual Work Location Type:
