This is your chance to be part of an in‑house Legal team at a top global hospitality company! As a Counsel, Franchise & Regulatory, you will support the team guiding Hilton's growth engine in global franchising. On the Americas Development Legal team reporting to Senior Counsel, Franchise & Regulatory, you will provide substantive legal advice and support on franchise registration and disclosure requirements, relationship laws, drafting legal documentation, and managing outside counsel to ensure Hilton's compliance with franchise laws around the world.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACTYour role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.
What your day-to-day will be like:- Write, review, and administer Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs), franchise registrations, and renewals.
- Ensure compliance with franchise relationship laws concerning franchise agreement terms, brand standards, policies, and procedures.
- Update and maintain form agreements for transactions including new hotel development, re‑licensings, and transfers, lender agreements, guarantees, and other franchise‑related contracts.
- Provide legal advice on disclosure and exemption requests for close deal support.
- Provide assistance for special projects, such as new brand launches and expansion into new territories, along with the implementation of new brand standards, commercial programs, and other projects.
- Support Hilton's Global Franchise Regulatory team, which is centralized and integrated.
- Collaborate daily across the Legal team at headquarters along with the Legal teams in our international regional offices.
- Liaise with business partners across the organization to ensure the accuracy of all disclosures and resolve questions.
- Provide legal advice and training on hotel franchising and related legal issues.
- Completing assigned tasks and supporting paralegal staff to ensure annual FDDs and registrations are completed by firm deadlines on an annual cycle.
- Progressively increasing responsibility for managing disclosure and registration matters by business segment and geographic area, and related projects.
- Three (3) or more years of experience as a practicing attorney at a leading law firm or corporation as a regulatory compliance, transactional and/or litigation attorney.
- Substantive experience in franchise law (regulatory, transactional, or litigation).
- Experience interacting with business partners and developing trust.
- Demonstrated experience in legal document drafting with a focus on detailed accuracy.
- Understanding of key legal concepts and experience to relay concepts to business partners and other Legal team members.
- Admitted to practice law, active and in good standing with the Virginia State Bar, or with another state bar and registered, or be eligible to register, as in‑house counsel with Virginia State Bar.
