Overview
Manager, Accounting, Retail Bank Agile Controllers. We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join the Retail Bank Agile Controllers Team as an Accounting Manager with a focus on project execution. You will execute on high priority projects for the company in support of our strategy and vision. The ideal candidate is a strong accounting professional with experience in project management and the ability to work well in teams, deliver in a fast-paced environment, and lead a team where appropriate.
The Controller’s Group supports the financial implementation of new products, services, and systems with opportunities for knowledge growth.
Responsibilities- Work autonomously on large and small scale projects with a direct impact on the company
- Plan, design, manage, execute and document project plans to ensure delivery and establish structure to manage the work
- Identify and remediate risks, issues, and dependencies; escalate when necessary
- Communicate effectively with all levels, including executive audiences; prepare professional presentation materials for leadership
- Demonstrate consulting and collaboration skills with stakeholders to understand accounting and business problems and drive resolution
- Adapt to changing demands with organizational agility
- Learn Capital One’s business processes to identify areas to streamline or improve accounting and business processes
- Apply understanding of financial, data, and technology concepts to program objectives
- Use problem solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent
- Contribute to process improvement through project development and knowledge sharing
- Build relationships with local and cross-organizational teams on various initiatives
- Facilitate the consistent use of Agile methodology for delivering projects
- Present results, findings, risks, and recommendations to leadership
- Coach and develop team members through leadership and mentorship
- Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
- At least 5 years of experience in Accounting, Audit, Finance, or a related field
- At least 3 years of Project Management experience
- At least 2 years of Process Improvement experience
- CPA license
- PMP or Lean Six Sigma certification
- 3+ years of People Management
- 3+ years of experience with Agile methodologies
- 1+ years of experience with Jira or ERP systems

The minimum and maximum full-time salaries are location dependent. Example ranges are provided for several locations; actual offers will reflect the candidate’s location and the applicable pay range. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated accordingly. This role may be eligible for performance-based incentives, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
