Principal Associate, Project Manager – Product Operations:
Governance & People Excellence
As a Project Manager at Capital One, you will lead critical and strategic business projects, working closely with key stakeholders to deliver results that directly impact the bottom line. Your work will support the Finance Product & Data Solutions organization, which drives innovation and optimization for the future of finance.
Key Responsibilities- Build out and operationalize a comprehensive AI‑powered learning strategy to scale core competencies across multiple product disciplines and accelerate new hire onboarding.
- Proactively manage and maintain the learning agenda to ensure it remains up to date and relevant as needs evolve.
- Manage top‑of‑house governance and OKR reporting activities for the Finance Product & Data Solutions organization.
- Maintain the online presence for the organization and support top‑of‑house communications.
- Lead medium‑to‑large complex, cross‑departmental projects, owning end‑to‑end life cycles, ensuring milestones are defined, aligned, and met.
- Forge relationships with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments and influence outcomes.
- Identify and implement ways to improve and streamline business processes.
- Quickly establish structure to plan, manage, and execute cross‑functional project plans from feasibility through implementation.
- Ensure project plans deliver on intent, maintaining strict alignment with defined scope, timelines, and budgets.
- Maintain flawless project documentation and host regular alignment meetings to track progress, assign action items, and report status to stakeholders.
- Proactively identify project risks and manage complex upstream/downstream impacts across the organization.
- Leverage strong analytical skills to mitigate roadblocks, navigate changing demands, and, when necessary, elevate issues.
- Act as a strategic and tactical thought partner, using consulting skills to inform and influence outcomes across all organizational levels.
- Foster a positive, collaborative "One Team" culture to align diverse stakeholder groups and drive successful project delivery.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent military experience.
- At least 4 years of project management experience.
- Master’s or MBA degree.
- 5+ years of project management experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification.

Capable salary ranges by location:
Cambridge, MA – $120,800 to $137,900;
McLean, VA – $120,800 to $137,900;
Richmond, VA – $109,900 to $125,400. The role may also earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which could include cash bonuses and/or long‑term incentives. Capital One offers a comprehensive set of health, financial, and other benefits that support total well‑being, with eligibility varying by full‑time status, exempt status, and management level.
