Business Director – Enterprise Strategy, Models and Infrastructure
Join a high‑growth team as a Business Director leading the models and infrastructure for our Arbitration team. This team drives significant marketing value and is a primary engine for new bookings, serving as the ultimate decision engine across multiple business lines. You will own the final call on who “wins” a placement, managing the P&L for several lines of business and leading collaboration across Data Science, Product, Business, and executive partners to translate model performance into business growth.
GeneralResponsibilities
- Strategic leadership: develop business strategies that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory demands.
- Leadership: manage and develop multiple analysts; coach and mentor associates to develop and retain talent.
- Product: develop and implement new product and pricing strategies for various lending products and lead product‑level data modeling/analytics.
- Marketing: lead direct‑to‑consumer marketing efforts for select products and strategic intent for products distributed through the retail channel; build targeted insights to inform customer experiences and technology concepts.
- Credit Risk: drive step‑change improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses through rigorous monitoring and analysis.
- Execution: manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements, and execute against the product strategy; oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently.
- Partnership: collaborate with colleagues across Capital One—including IT, Sales, Operations, and Finance—to improve quality, volume, service, and profitability.
- Strategic and analytic orientation: demonstrate a proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics, with strong quantitative and conceptual skills.
- Strong business judgment, leadership, and integrity: make tenacious, aggressive yet responsible decisions.
- Strong people leadership experience: build and leverage a high‑performing team and partner across the enterprise; foster innovation and hold partners accountable.
- Strong executive communication skills: deliver impeccable written and oral communication, strategic influencing, and negotiation to drive agreement.
- Clear results orientation: focus intensively on short‑ and long‑term goals and execute an agenda in an uncertain, fluid environment.
- Successful track record of thriving in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial, and dynamic environment; previous consulting experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 4 years of experience performing quantitative analysis
- At least 4 years of experience performing qualitative analysis
- At least 2 years of experience performing people management
- At least 2 years of experience performing project management
- Master’s Degree
- 2+ years of experience in financial services
- 1+ year of experience in consulting
