The Strategic Planning Manager – Level 2 will lead strategy, assessment, and investment planning for Northrop Grumman Space Divisions. The role reports to the Senior Director of Strategic Planning and can be based in McLean, VA;
Chandler, AZ;
Redondo Beach, CA;
Linthicum, MD; or Dulles, VA.
- Formulate strategies for NG Space Divisions by identifying internal and external strategic factors that could impact growth and market.
- Prioritize market segments, mission areas, and ensure alignment with the overall Sector strategy.
- Analyze and synthesize data and insights regarding addressable market, customer budgets, competitor trends, key strategic issues, and other core strategic planning needs.
- Support development of the financial Annual Operating Plan.
- Plan and coordinate business reviews, resource allocations, and financial/nonfinancial strategic objectives.
- Support multi-year investment planning, partnering with Strategy, Business Management, Program teams, and the Chief Technology office.
- Develop Division-specific investment recommendations to align with overall Sector strategy and investment guidance.
- Manage R&D investment execution, monitoring performance against targets and goals, planned reporting, etc.
- Support new development of tools to track, manage, and report on investment.
- Lead with integrity, ethical conduct, and balanced results; build collaborative teams, foster customer trust, and champion excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant professional experience in strategic assessment, strategy development, and financial analysis; OR Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Excellent executive communication and presentation skills, able to distill complex data into actionable insights for executives and senior stakeholders.
- Experience and knowledge of space industry trends, dynamics, and characteristics.
- Active U.S. Government Top-Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
- Relevant experience in aerospace and defense strategic planning, portfolio development, and strategic assessment.
- Experience in strategic planning in the Space industry.
- Active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application.
