Summary:

As a Senior Manager, Business Analysis at Capital One, you will apply strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. You will lead and collaborate with professionals to develop and test strategies that impact the bottom line. The Upmarket Line of Business (LOB) seeks a dynamic Senior Manager or Director to lead the Upmarket CLIP (Credit Line Increase Program) Valuations team.

The Upmarket CLIP program is experiencing growth, currently granting $10B+ in annual exposure and generating $1B+ in Net Present Value (NPV). This program manages a wide range of credit lines and requires Advanced Credit Infrastructure to effectively manage, optimize, and monitor the business.

You will lead a team of 4–5 Model Developers and serve as the strategic architect for long-term valuations infrastructure. This role provides exposure to credit and business strategy driving growth and is suitable for an experienced modeler seeking business leadership exposure or a technical business analyst seeking deeper modeling expertise.

• Strategic leadership:
  Develop business strategies to drive growth, profitability, and competitive advantage while adapting to shifting consumer and regulatory behavior.
• Business ownership:
  Maintain an ownership mindset; may include P&L accountability for a business segment.
• Strategic planning:
  Develop plans with a 1–6 month horizon.
• Leadership & coaching:
  Manage and develop a team of analysts; mentor associates to develop and retain talent.
• Product & pricing:
  Develop and implement new product and pricing strategies; lead product-level modeling and analytics.
• Marketing:
  Lead direct-to-consumer marketing efforts for select products and strategic go-to-market initiatives.
• Insights:
  Build targeted insights to inform customer experiences and new technology concepts.
• Credit risk:
  Drive improvements in credit performance by modeling drivers of future trends and testing hypotheses with rigorous monitoring and analysis.
• Execution:
  Coordinate across the line of business to manage delivery of business intent, gather requirements, and execute against the product strategy; oversee multiple projects and programs.
• Partnership:
  Collaborate with IT, Sales, Operations, Finance, and others to improve quality, volume, service, and profitability.
• Analytics:
  Apply strong conceptual and quantitative reasoning; leverage analytics for decision making and problem solving.
• Leadership & integrity:
  Demonstrate decisive leadership, foster innovation, drive critical decisions, and deliver results.
• Communication:
  Exhibit strong executive communication, influence, and negotiation skills.

• Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 3 years of quantitative analysis experience
  • At least 3 years of qualitative analysis experience
  • At least 1 year of people management experience
  • At least 1 year of project management experience
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field (Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering)
  • 5+ years of quantitative analysis experience
  • 5+ years of qualitative analysis experience
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • 2+ years of experience in product development
  • 2+ years of experience in financial modeling
  • 2+ years of experience in economic forecasting
  • 2+ years of experience in project management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries are location-based. An example:
McLean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100 for Sr. Business Manager. This role may be eligible for performance-based incentives, including cash bonuses and long-term incentives (LTI).
