Senior Director, Project Management - Enterprise Supplier Management

As a Senior Director Project Manager at Capital One, you will have an opportunity to lead our Enterprise Supplier Management Project Management Office as we continue to embark on a multi-year journey fueled by integrations, transformation, and our values-based mission to Change banking for Good. This role will operate within the Enterprise Supplier Management (ESM) line of business, focusing on supporting the supply chain and procurement organization.

You will collaborate with smart and passionate leaders to influence results that have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line, while designing and building out our long term Project management strategy and support model. As the Senior Director, Project Management for Enterprise Supplier Management, you will be instrumental in building and overseeing the structure and governance around all aspects of project management for ESM.

This includes defining and implementing robust methodologies, processes, and tools to standardize project delivery, enhance visibility, and ensure consistent execution across the supply chain and procurement organization. You will leverage your operational strategy skills to transform and optimize the project management ecosystem for ESM, integrating process management principles and demonstrating strong change management familiarity. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of transformation at a time of major change with leading-edge technologies, while partnering closely with our Technology and Product partners as we bring to life an ambitious set of initiatives in support of our long term enterprise third party strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establishing and maintaining the comprehensive project management structure and governance model for ESM, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and compliance within a highly regulated environment.
  • Identifying and sequencing (in partnership with key stakeholders) the multi-year strategic objectives and roadmap for the Enterprise Supplier Management project portfolio, translating executive intent into executable programs and initiatives for supply chain and procurement.
  • People leadership, supporting a team of approximately ~10-20 Associates, to drive complex projects and programs, providing strategic direction and fostering a well-developed ecosystem that allows for effective delivery against integration demands, Business-as-Usual (BAU) project support, and other related ad-hoc needs.
  • Owning executive-level communications, roadmaps, and reporting to provide transparency on project progress, key risks, resource requirements, and to articulate the volume and types of work to senior leadership within ESM.
  • Provide strategic oversight and hands‑on assistance in the initial scoping, feasibility assessment, and foundational definition activities for sensitive or high‑priority programs and initiatives, ensuring executive alignment and robust planning from inception.
  • Facilitating ongoing tradeoff and prioritization discussions with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), providing insights into resource supply against activity demand to enable informed strategic decisions.
  • Directing the design and implementation of workflow solutions to drive consistency and efficiency across the Enterprise Supplier Management project delivery environment.
  • Driving continuous improvement in project and process management practices by challenging existing processes and leveraging data, technology, and industry best practices, applying structured approaches where warranted from well established project management methodologies (ie Agile).
  • Partnering cross-functionally with project customers, dedicated partners, legal/compliance, technology leads, and business operations to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership and ensure successful, compliant project delivery.
  • Ensuring projects are being delivered on time and on budget within a challenging environment while simultaneously managing risk effectively.
  • Maintaining a strong and developing understanding of AI principles, applications in project management, and broader industry trends, for continuous adaptation to emerging technologies.
We Want You If:
  • You are a proven strategic leader who can define a vision, mobilize resources, and deliver measurable results in a highly regulated environment, specifically within the context of supply chain and procurement.
  • You possess executive maturity and…
