Chinese Language Research Analyst

Pamir is seeking a Chinese Language Research Analyst to support our clients through in-depth research and market analysis related to China, using advanced linguistic and cultural understanding to collect, analyze, and interpret data. The role involves close collaboration with team members to ensure high-quality and actionable outcomes.

• Conduct Chinese- and English-language open-source research and analysis
• Write finished intelligence reports on a variety of topics related to China
• Collect, interpret, and synthesize news media, social media, procurement, trade, commercial, and other types of data
• Produce and deliver briefing materials for clients that explain key findings and their implications

Candidates will be evaluated based on the following knowledge and qualifications:

• Advanced Chinese reading skills
• Bachelor’s degree required;
  Master’s degree is preferred
• Minimum of four years of research and analysis experience; experience in commercial consulting or government is preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work individually or in teams
• Fluency in other language(s) is a plus
• Ability to acquire and maintain a security clearance, therefore, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Language abilities can be demonstrated by standardized testing scores (HSK 5 or equivalent) or by prior work experience.

• Strong understanding of China’s economy, political system, military, and other issues
• Formal analytic tradecraft training
