Retail Inventory & Stock Operations Associate

Summary

The Operations Associate is responsible for maintaining the store’s inventory and stock areas, processing shipping and receiving accurately, and supporting inventory control procedures to minimize loss. The role keeps stock and receiving areas orderly, assists with merchandise handling and floor moves, and supports store compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all shipping and receiving functions that affect store inventory are processed accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain an orderly and neat stock and receiving area and ensure merchandise is properly ticketed and sensored.
• Accurately process inbound freight, returns-to-vendor (RTVs), chargebacks, transfers, and damages per company policies.
• Support compliance of receiving practices with company policies, including safekeeping of funds, security, and record-keeping.
• Ensure stock is appropriately security tagged to prevent loss and communicate with central distribution or corporate inventory control.
• Participate in inventory and cycle counts and assist with floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping.
• Assist with price changes and with packing or wrapping customers’ merchandise when necessary.

Requirements

• Ability to handle receiving operations effectively and to process merchandise through inventory systems.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
• Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete documentation and process information through computer systems.
• Ability to operate necessary equipment including phone systems, inventory-control systems, and sensor-tag removers.
• Ability to work varied hours including nights, weekends, and holidays and to adjust priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to stand extended periods, move and handle boxes and fixtures, and perform heavy lifting as required.
• Previous retail stock, shipping, or receiving experience.
