Job Description

Position Summary: The Director of Business Development is responsible for building and leading a scalable growth function that fuels the organic expansion of the firm. This is a player-coach role in which the Director sets strategy and personally executes. The leader owns both the Marketing and Business Development functions, eliminating the handoff friction between demand generation and pipeline conversion. The Director will deepen scope and opportunity within existing corporate client ecosystems, expand into new target companies, and coordinate execution across marketing, advisory, and operational teams.
This requires a hands-on, metric-driven leader who generates consistent Net New Assets (NNA) and inspires cross-functional alignment toward growth.
Historically, the firm has built deep expertise in supporting executives with defined benefit plans nearing retirement, particularly at Fortune 500 companies. Going forward, the Director will both extend that legacy and design new approaches to reach untapped companies and new executive populations.

Key Responsibilities
The Director owns the firm's full growth cycle, from strategy through execution:
- Develop and execute the firm's organic growth strategy, including NNA targets, KPI development, pipeline forecasting, and regular reporting to senior leadership.
- Build and run repeatable corporate ecosystem campaigns targeting Fortune 500 executives with defined benefit plans nearing retirement, creating detailed entry playbooks for each new target company.
- Own and continuously optimize the firm's core acquisition channels (webinars, educational events, and targeted email campaigns) while testing new channels including workshops and strategic partnerships.
- Build and manage a network of Centers of Influence (COIs), tracking referral quality, engagement, and outcomes.
- Define lead qualification protocols and handoff standards between Business Development and Advisory; maintain and evolve the qualified lead definition in partnership with the Director of Advisory.
- Equip advisors with training and resources specific to prospect conversion, corporate plan expertise, and BD positioning strategies; maintain a structured feedback loop to inform lead scoring and conversion support.
- Streamline handoffs between Business Development and Advisory to ensure a seamless and professional prospect experience; identify and resolve friction points at the BD-to-Advisory seam.
- Own the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across email, digital, and events; articulate and evolve the firm's value proposition to better resonate with target audiences.
- Oversee CRM utilization and pipeline reporting to ensure visibility and accountability across teams; track campaign performance against NNA goals at every stage of the funnel.
Requirements and Skills
- Experience managing marketing and BD functions, campaigns, and teams.
- Deep familiarity with Fortune 500 executive client segments and corporate benefit programs.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms;
Salesforce and Account Engagement experience preferred. - Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and consistently exceed goals.
