Electrician

Amentum is seeking an Electrician to inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, maintain, and make necessary tests on all electrical systems and equipment 600v or less throughout the facilities.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Thursday, 4:30pm – 2:30am

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include the following:

• Work from prints, diagrams, specification, and instructions covering emergency and scheduled repairs; as well as demolition, installation, testing, and inspection of work to be done on electrical systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, repair, or replacement of electrical equipment on AC and/or DC systems.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, modify, install, and repair electrical equipment and circuits using prints, diagrams, and test instruments.
• Test, inspect, clean, repair, dismantle, adjust, replace, assemble, maintain and lubricate all manual or automatic AC and DC systems, electrical equipment, transformers, switch gear, control panels, regulators, and various other electrical apparatus.
• Prepare and maintain records and reports on electrical systems equipment, as required for maintenance programs on the basis of all information obtained through tests.
• Install conduit, wiring and electrical apparatus.
• Read blueprints and generate bill of materials.
• Perform other job-related duties, as assigned.
• Maintain part and tool inventories.
• Directs other repair personnel, as assigned.

JOB POSITION:
Local 99 Electrician Grade 1

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Incumbents may work in conditions that require operating industrial machinery/power tools and motor vehicles. Additionally, incumbents may participate in work that requires walking, bending, squatting, and carrying materials throughout the facility. Workplace conditions necessitate following strict safety guidelines and the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Work tasks requiring the incumbent to lift weight more than 50 pounds requires two or more persons.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

• Journeyman Electrical License.
• Thorough working knowledge of national and local electrical codes.
• Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions.
• A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays, as required.
• Four years maintenance and/or construction experience in the electrical trade required.
• High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.

Clearance Required:

- Must be a U.S. Citizen, and able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.

Minimum Education:

High school, GED, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required.

Minimum Years of

Experience:

Four years maintenance and/or construction experience in the electrical trade required.
