Leidos has a new and exciting opportunity for a Disclosure & Declassification Officer in our Intel Sector Analysis Solutions Business Area (ASBA).
Job SummaryLeidos is seeking an experienced Disclosure & Declassification Officer for our client's mission‑focused program located in McLean, VA. The successful candidate will assess the classification and markings of both classified and unclassified products—such as analytic reports, policy documents, websites, IT code, budget spreadsheets, and more—in accordance with the client’s policies, procedures, and security classification guides, and will explain those determinations to leaders and the workforce.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Review various products to recommend approval or denial, in whole or in part, of requests for public disclosure and explain determinations to leaders and the workforce.
- Review records to determine if they can be declassified.
- Develop and maintain records for tracking the status and adjudication of materials.
- Plan, coordinate, and document the client’s classification, declassification, and prepublication determinations.
- Work during the client’s core hours of 0600‑1800 EST Monday to Friday as required.
- TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Experience with maintaining and updating the IC Marking Systems Register and Manual.
- Able to consult and coordinate with stakeholders and organizations to ensure consistent application of public disclosure policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with the IDSCLOSE application is desirable.
- Ability to develop and implement strategies to identify information‑protection issues, including those resulting from unauthorized disclosure, inadvertent release, declassification, and the cumulative effect of releases.
- Minimum 5 years working with or in the information‑council (IC).
- Requires a BA degree and 4‑8 years of prior relevant experience or a master’s degree with 2‑6 years of prior relevant experience. Experience may be exchanged for degree requirements.
- Previous experience reviewing senior‑level policy and/or strategy documents.
- Previous experience reviewing government documents for public release.
- Ability to assist groups in arriving at consensus on complex topics.
- Critical thinking ability to recognize and ascertain when information supporting decision‑making is incomplete or requires greater context.
- Detail oriented with excellent grammar and proof‑reading skills.
- Excellent communication abilities and a customer‑service oriented personality.
