As a back‑end developer, you will design, build, and maintain robust systems and applications that deliver clean code, efficient APIs, and scalable infrastructure to support client solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to identify risks, develop solutions, and ensure high performance and scalability.

At Booz Allen, you will use cutting‑edge architectural approaches and open‑source frameworks to build custom tools, systems, and sites with consistent performance. This role enables you to make a mission‑driven impact while growing your technical and professional skill set.

• 3+ years of experience implementing, maintaining, and supporting software development projects.
• 3+ years of experience using programming languages and development stacks for back‑end work.
• Proficiency with Java.
• Experience with Docker containerization.
• Experience working with unbounded data streams.
• Experience solving complex problems within a collaborative, cross‑functional team.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to take a polygraph exam.
• Associate’s degree and 5+ years of software engineering experience, or Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of software engineering experience.

• Experience with Agile methodology, extreme programming, product management, and software product practices.
• Experience with Kubernetes clusters.
• Experience with Kotlin and Python.
• Experience writing source code for new applications or improving code for existing applications.
• Experience gathering client requirements and resolving workflow problems through automation optimization.
• Experience using automated testing tools for testing and maintenance.
• Master’s degree.

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must maintain TS/SCI clearance.

Salary is determined by location, education, experience, and other factors. The projected annual compensation range is $86,800 to $198,000. Additional benefits include health, life, disability, financial, and retirement plans, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work‑life programs, and dependent care. Full‑time and part‑time employees working at least 20 hours a week are eligible for Booz Allen benefit programs.
