Position OverviewWe are looking to fill a senior developer position within the mercury risk team which is part of the Investment & Capital Market division at Freddie Mac. As a team member, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with trading desks, risk managers and the finance team to provide solutions to highly visible business requirements, by designing, developing and testing new functionalities and enhancements to the system.

- We generate and report on daily risk metrics for ICM division and beyond to help business make hedging decisions and feed financial reports on market risk of the retained portfolio.
- We find innovative approaches to bring solutions to business quickly and sustainably.
- Work closely with business teams to understand requirements.
- Be able to independently design, develop and test solutions following the SDLC process.
- Mentor junior team members as needed.
- College Degree or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred.
- Typically has 5-7 years related experience.
- Sound proficiency with Java-based technologies, hands‑on experience in design patterns and UML design tools.
- Collective experience with databases (Sybase, DB2, SQL Server, Oracle).
- Experience with scripting language: UNIX Shell.
- Experience in using GIT, Team Forge, Jenkins and Artifactory.
- Employ extensive professional experience and creativity to resolve complex technical problems.
- Provide L3 production support for ICM core applications.
- Provide solutions to technical issues, including hands‑on code enhancements and defect fixing to the applications in the portfolio.
- Serve as a champion for change.
- Drive for tactical outcome to increase the development team's efficiency and productivity.
- Engage with the business users, application owners and other affected parties during problem resolution.
- Document lessons learned, help maintain knowledge database.
- Coordinate end‑to‑end application onboarding to production.
- Manage concurrent EDM initiatives.
- Adapt positively to rapidly growing and changing environment while working under pressure.
- Promote top code quality by leading design and code reviews and solving challenging issues related to performance tuning and scalability.
- Train and mentor other team members on best practices and past experiences.
- Strong EDM/SDLC project management experience.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask; can set priorities and follow a timeline.
- Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills and experience with project delivery.
- Sound interpersonal and team‑working skills.
- Familiarity with the mortgage industry or direct Freddie Mac experience is an added plus.

This position has an annualized market‑based salary range of $118,000 – $178,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
