Software Engineer, Full Stack Developer, Backend Developer

Altamira Technologies is a provider of innovative security solutions headquartered in McLean, Virginia, serving defense, intelligence and homeland security communities worldwide.

Location: Chantilly, VA or McLean, VA.

We are seeking Software Engineers with a mix of full‑stack development talent to provide software and web development services. The role spans technologies such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C, React, PostGIS, AWS services, Git, Docker/K8s. Candidates should be independent problem solvers who adapt to the right architecture, languages, and libraries to deliver mission‑critical systems and an excellent user experience.

• Produce software based on desired functionality provided by users and analysts.
• Interpret mission needs and requirements to produce user‑friendly software systems.
• Leverage continuous integration to create sustainable and maintainable software.
• Interact with teammates and users through whiteboard sessions or design documents to establish continuous feedback.

• 3 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in full‑stack web development with one or more technologies:
  Java, C, Python, web frameworks, JavaScript/Type Script, React, REST web services, containerization, Kubernetes, Helm, No
  
  SQL and SQL databases, TIG stack, AWS or other cloud providers, Linux, Git Lab CI/CD.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.

• Minimum TS/SCI clearance required; CI Poly preferred.
• Self‑motivated and eager to satisfy mission requirements.
• Adaptable and committed to maintaining company culture.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and adjust priorities as needed.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $125,000 to $175,000. Compensation will depend on scope, experience, education, certifications, internal equity, contractual obligations, clearance requirements and other legitimate business considerations.
