Lead Mobile Engineer, Android (Enterprise Platforms Technology)

Capital One is seeking a Lead Mobile Engineer to build Android applications and lead mobile platform initiatives.

• Develop Android client code solutions aligned with product strategy and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers, UX/UI, Quality Engineers, Product Owners/Analysts to deliver high-performing, engaging customer experiences.
• Participate in all Agile ceremonies and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
• Advocate for the mobile platform within internal and external developer communities.
• Stay current with mobile development technologies (Kotlin, Swift, third-party libraries, etc.).
• Influence group discussions, incorporate feedback, and mentor junior to mid-level team members.
• Engage with developers across disciplines (Android, iOS, APIs, Web) outside the local sprint team.
• Lead delivery of major components and platform needs in partnership with senior engineers and architects.
• Share best practices, improve processes, and review pull requests for adherence to Kotlin and language idioms.
• Provide SME-level leadership on technical topics.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of experience building Android applications.
• At least 3 years of experience with Kotlin.

• Master’s degree.
• 5+ years of experience building Android applications.
• 4+ years of experience with Kotlin.
• 4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks.
• 2+ years of experience with Agile practices.
• Experience leveraging interactive AI tooling to accelerate productivity.
