As a Distinguished Mobile Engineer at Capital One, you will be part of a community of technical experts working to define the future of banking in the cloud. You will collaborate with developers, machine‑learning experts, product managers, and people leaders to drive innovation, optimize business outcomes, and deliver strong technology solutions.

Our Distinguished Engineers lead through technical contribution, promote a culture of engineering excellence, and build next‑generation talent through mentorship and recruitment.

In this role you will work with the Client Platforms team to define and drive the technical vision for Capital One's web platform ecosystem—including EASEWeb, The Site, and Gravity Web—lead architecture and standards for AI‑native web delivery, guide large‑scale platform migrations, and elevate developer experience across hundreds of contributing engineers.

• Serve as an authoritative expert on non‑functional system characteristics such as performance, scalability, and operability
• Continue learning and injecting advanced technical knowledge into our community

• Act as a role model and mentor within the tech community, coaching and strengthening technical expertise and know‑how
• Define and drive the technical vision for Capital One’s web platform domain, spanning authenticated servicing, marketing/acquisition, and design‑system capabilities
• Lead architectural decisions for large‑scale platform integrations and migrations, ensuring long‑term platform health while meeting delivery commitments
• Establish AI‑native development standards and practices for web platforms, including agentic tooling, machine‑consumable architecture, and AI‑assisted delivery workflows
• Drive measurable improvement in developer experience and platform NPS across enterprise inner‑source contributors
• Partner with product, design, and engineering leadership to align technical strategy with business priorities across lines of business

• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least 7years of experience in general software engineering and solution architecture
• At least 7years of experience in enterprise architecture and design patterns
• At least 7years of experience in enterprise‑software specializations for mobile technology and frameworks (iOS, Android)

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 10+years of experience in mobile technology and frameworks (iOS, Android)
• 10+years of professional experience coding in commonly used languages such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/Type Script, Swift, etc.
• 8+years of professional experience in the full lifecycle of system development, from conception through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support
• 3+years of experience with public or private cloud technologies
• 8+years of experience with networking (BGP, Wi‑Fi, SD‑WAN, cloud networking, and data‑center networking)
• Experience leveraging interactive AI tooling to accelerate productivity using capabilities beyond basic code completion

Additional locations are subject to local pay ranges. The role is eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation, including cash bonus and/or long‑term incentives.
