Only accepting local candidates immediately local to the Washington, DC area.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java 8+, Angular, Type Script, databases, and testing frameworks, along with the ability to drive technical solutions, mentor team members, and deliver high-quality software in an Agile environment.
Work Location: Onsite (5 days per week)
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and support enterprise applications using Java and Angular.
- Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
- Develop RESTful APIs and scalable backend services.
- Apply software engineering best practices, including code reviews, design patterns, and automated testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance, scalability, and security issues.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to team growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–8+ years of software development experience.
- 4+ years of hands‑on Java development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java 8+ and core Java concepts.
- Experience with Angular and Type Script.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
- Experience with Git Hub or Git Lab.
- Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Design (OOD), SOLID principles, and design patterns.
- Experience with Hibernate, JPA, or other ORM frameworks.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Hands‑on experience with JUnit, Mockito, automated testing, and test‑driven development.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, or similar technologies.
- Previous mentoring or technical leadership experience.
- Demonstrates strong technical leadership and ownership.
- Thinks critically and solves complex technical challenges.
- Adapts quickly to changing priorities and technologies.
- Collaborates effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
- Delivers scalable, high-quality solutions with a customer-focused mindset.
