The Role and TeamWe are looking for a Senior AI/ML Engineer to join our Medallia AI Platform team and lead the migration of our AI platform to AWS Gov Cloud. This role requires US citizenship due to Gov Cloud access and deployment requirements.
As a Senior AI/ML Engineer on the AI Platform team, you will architect and develop the building blocks of our next-generation AI products while spearheading our Gov Cloud migration initiative. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class AI capabilities to government and enterprise customers.
ResponsibilitiesLead the migration of our AI/ML platform services to AWS Gov Cloud, ensuring compliance, security, and performance standards.
Design and implement cloud-native ML infrastructure on AWS, including Sage Maker, ECS, EKS, and Lambda.
Monitor, maintain, and optimize deployed models and ML pipelines in Gov Cloud environments.
Build and maintain secure data pipelines across national boundaries, adhering to FedRAMP requirements.
Collaborate with product and design teams to build innovative features for the Customer Experience space.
Architect scalable solutions for large-scale data processing made available to clients with high performance.
Design and implement APIs to power front-end applications.
Identify process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability.
Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation to maintain the availability and reliability of both internal platforms and customer-facing production systems.
Candidates based in the Tysons vicinity will be prioritized as this role is Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
Eligibility Requirement:
Due to compliance restrictions for AWS Gov Cloud environments, US Citizenship is required for this role. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain access to these secure environments.BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of software development in production environments using Python, Java, or Scala.
Demonstrated experience deploying and operating services on Kubernetes (K8s); familiarity with K8s-based deployment frameworks in regulated environments.
Demonstrated experience with distributed systems:
Spark, Hadoop, Kafka.Demonstrated experience with Relational SQL including Postgres.
Demonstrated experience with code quality best practices and testing architectures on large codebases.
Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, EKS, Sage Maker) for cases where native AWS deployments are required outside the company's K8s framework.
Experience with AWS Gov Cloud or FedRAMP-compliant environments.
AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty or Solutions Architect certification.
Experience with ML model serving platforms:
Tensor Flow Serving, TensorRT, Triton, KServe.Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools such as Airflow or Kubeflow.
Microservices development using Django or Spring framework.
Experience with No
SQL databases including Elastic Search.
Medallia is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $148,500 - $221,000. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline and combines all of the distinct labor markets within the US. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors.
