Lead Java Developer

Hybrid 3 days onsite in McLean, VA

Our client seeks a Lead Java Developer to build and enhance backend services for a business application. The role will focus on Java and Spring Boot services running on AWS with components such as Lambda and Fargate. The work will include creating programs that influence business processes, integrating AI tooling where appropriate, and collaborating in a hybrid environment across McLean, VA and Plano, TX teams.

Rate: $85.00 to $90.00/hr. w2

• Design, develop, and maintain backend Java services using Spring Boot.
• Build and operate AWS workloads leveraging services such as Lambda and Fargate.
• Develop business application features that influence and automate business processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a hybrid model across McLean, VA and Plano, TX.
• Incorporate AI tooling where suitable to improve developer productivity and solution capability.
• Ensure code quality, observability, and reliability through testing and best practices.

• Strong backend Java development with Spring Boot.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS, including Lambda and container orchestration such as Fargate.
• Background building business applications and process‑driven services.
• Experience with AI tooling in the software development lifecycle.
• Full stack experience acceptable with emphasis on backend services.
