Position: Mclean Area Director of Tennis & Pickleball (Full-Time, Year-Round)

Pros To You  is a Maryland and Virginia–based outdoor tennis and pickleball provider serving juniors and adults of all ages, offering after-school programs, clinics, camps, as well as private lessons across multiple locations. Pros To You  is hiring an enthusiastic Area Director of Tennis & Pickleball to lead tennis and pickleball programming across three swim and tennis clubs in the Mclean and Falls Church, VA area. This is a full-time, year-round position ideal for experienced tennis players, private school teachers, and early career professionals who are excited to grow into leadership while staying on court.

This role combines coaching, staff leadership, operations, and program management, with strong earning potential tied to program success.

Responsibilities
  • Lead tennis and pickleball programs for youth, teens, and adults
  • Coach tennis group lessons, clinics, day camps, socials, and summer camps
  • Support player development and positive on‑court experiences
Leadership & Staff Management
  • Supervise and mentor Coaches, Counselors, and Junior Counselors
  • Support staff training, scheduling, and performance feedback
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and seasonal staffing needs
  • Foster a positive, professional, and team‑oriented environment
Operations and Budget Management
  • Manage daily site operations including court usage and scheduling
  • Co‑manage program budgets, supporting revenue growth and cost control
  • Make rain delay and weather‑related decisions
  • Oversee court maintenance and facility readiness
  • Maintain attendance records, evaluations, and incident reports
Parent & Client Communication
  • Serve as the primary contact for parents, guardians, and players
  • Communicate clearly via email and phone
  • Share schedules, updates, and program policies
  • Build strong relationships within the local Bethesda/Potomac community
Safety & Player Care
  • Enforce safety policies and club guidelines
  • Respond promptly to concerns or emergencies
  • Promote positive behavior, sportsmanship, and inclusion
  • Coach tennis group lessons, clinics, day camps, socials, and summer camps
  • Support player development and positive on‑court experiences
Skills
  • Proven experience in coaching or teaching within tennis and/or pickleball environments.
  • Experience working with children and youth in childcare settings or school‑based programs; adept at behavior management.
  • Knowledge of health club or gym operations related to tennis programming.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork.
  • Exceptional communication skills for engaging with participants of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Ability to organize events, manage multiple priorities efficiently, and adapt to changing needs.
Schedule
  • Expected hours: 35–40+ hours per week
  • On‑court expectation: approximately 1,200 on‑court minimum hours annually required
  • Outdoor season:
    Late March through end of October
  • Indoor season:
    November – March (teach at a nearby indoor tennis facility with potential for additional income)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Private school teachers, teacher assistants, substitutes, and early career professionals encouraged to apply)
  • 3+ years of tennis coaching or competitive playing experience
  • PTR or RSPA certification a plus
  • Experience working with children, teens, and adults
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, outdoor environment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally
  • $30,000 annual salary + 30% net revenue
