HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

We are looking for a dynamic individual for the A Family Place Relief Nursery Therapeutic Early Childhood program. The ideal candidate will be mission-driven, sensitive, and respectful of all people, with a desire to make a difference for children, families, and communities served by LCS Northwest.

The Bilingual Teacher Interventionist/Home Visitor position is a dual role of Therapeutic Early Childhood Classroom Teacher Interventionist and Home Visitor who supports highly stressed families with children aged 5 and younger. This position will provide intensive home-visiting services to a caseload of approximately 9-11 highly stressed families whose children are also served in the Therapeutic Early Childhood Program classrooms. Home visits typically occur with each family monthly and will entail providing parenting and child development information, resources, and support.

This position is also responsible for co-creating/planning and implementing developmentally appropriate and therapeutic curricula for 2 different classrooms of 8-11 children each, monitoring each child’s development and progress, as well as creating developmentally appropriate goals for each child. Spanish speakers are strongly encouraged to apply. This is a full-time position at 1.0 FTE (37.5 hours per week) which requires the ability to work some evening hours.

Enrollment in the Central Background Registry is beneficial if you are even considering working with children in the State of Oregon since it will be required before you can start a position.   • Co-Plan, implement, and post developmentally and therapeutically appropriate classroom curriculum and activities for children ages 24 mo-5 years
  • Ensure a therapeutic atmosphere and interactions occur with children in the classroom
  • Incorporate research-based parenting education into home visits
  • Utilize the Growing Great Kids/Growing Great Families curriculum to engage families in parent-child activities, facilitate positive attachment, promote early childhood mental health and protective factors
  • Assist families to identify and achieve parenting, personal, and/or child goals
  • Complete home visit documentation, required evidence-based screenings, and other required paperwork in a timely manner and with accuracy to meet the standards of Relief Nursery
  • Provide referrals to necessary community resources, and advocate for the family’s needs and interests
