Chemeketa Community College seeks energetic, teaching-focused candidates for a full-time, 172-day Medical Assisting and Basic Nursing Assistant Instructor position based in McMinnville, Oregon. The instructor will provide high-quality, bilingual classroom, laboratory, clinical, and community-based instruction that prepares students for employment in healthcare settings. This position supports program expansion and equitable access to healthcare workforce training throughout Chemeketa’s diverse three-county service district, with significant instructional responsibilities at the Yamhill Valley Campus, Woodburn Center, and other college locations as needed.
Bilingual Spanish-English communication skills are required to support student recruitment, instruction, retention, and community engagement. Chemeketa serves students through its central campus in Salem, a network of campuses and centers, and its statewide leadership in online education.

InstructionalProgram Responsibilities
- Participates in curriculum development; recommends course outline revisions
- Recommends textbooks and other instructional materials and equipment; recommends library and reference materials
- Contributes suggestions for annual department budget
- Keeps up to date on technological changes and developments in subject area
- Attends staff meetings and participates in designated committee work; represents the department at pertinent meetings as required
- Promotes positive image of college and college programs
- Develops and maintains contacts with community and professional organizations
- Functions as a life-long learner
- Instructs Medical Assisting and Basic Nursing Assistant courses utilizing knowledge of the discipline and teaching practice that facilitates student learning
- Meets all scheduled and special classes-day, possible evening and weekends
- Teaches classes as assigned, following approved course outlines
- Prepares and develops materials for assigned classes
- Posts and maintains office hours
- Provides students with course syllabi
- Maintains records of grades and attendance; reports individual academic grades when required
- Maintains college facilities and equipment
- Delivers instruction in a variety of modalities to meet program and student needs including face-to-face, remote, hybrid, and/or online
- Creates a learning climate of mutual respect and fairness
- Encourages creative and critical thinking
- Engages participants in an active learning process
- Facilitates learning that applies to and enriches lives
- Encourages student responsibility for learning
- Promotes learning as a lifelong process

Minimum QualificationsPossesses a current, unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Oregon
Equivalent of (2) two years of demonstrated experience as a registered nurse
Bilingual English/Spanish
