Patient Access Representative

LifePoint Health -  -  - Responsibilities:
Collects patient demographic, insurance, and financial information for outpatient services and inpatient admissions, verifies benefits, and obtains authorizations as needed.;
Collects co-pays and deductibles at the point of service to expedite the admitting process.;
Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational handouts; ensures signatures are obtained.;
Meets with patient or caregiver before or after admission to exchange necessary information and documentation.;
Communicates with admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and other personnel to exchange information and determine placement.
