Position: Supported Education Specialist
Yamhill County has one regular full-time position for a Supported Education Specialist (HS Specialist I) to work as part of Community Support Services (CSS) programs serving individuals diagnosed with serious mental illnesses, many of whom have co-occurring substance use disorders. The Supported Education Specialist works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver individualized, person-centered services and supports in a community-based setting to program participants pursuing education.

Duties include developing and implementing service plans, developing and carrying out behavior support strategies, offering individual skills training, acting as a resource, partnering with community agencies, providing complex interventions as well as overall structure and behavioral health support, and documenting services in an electronic health record.

The

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field required AND at least one year of experience.

OR

* Master's degree.

OR

* An appropriate combination of education and experience may be substituted for a degree in achieving a variance for required education and service qualification, as determined by the State of Oregon.

* Must qualify as a QMHA.

* Must have an NPI number or be able to get one upon employment.

* May be subject to the successful completion of a background check.

The Candidate:

As a successful candidate you should have a working knowledge of techniques specifically related to community mental health services and the following abilities:

* Understanding the behavior of people under stress.

* Develop and maintain effective cooperative relationships with clients and their families, the community, physicians, law enforcement agencies, the courts, and public and private administrators.

* Interpret and deliver community mental health or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder serivces, and to prepare concise and complete client treatment and progress records.

Typing and computer proficiency is required for collaborative documentation. Additionally, you will exhibit excellent communication skills, be dependable, organized, self-directed, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to work in a team environment and to interact with co-workers, clients, and the public in a courteous, professional manner.
