SummaryThis position is responsible for overall support of the Maintenance Department and ongoing daily operation of the McMinnville Properties campus. The Maintenance Tech must have knowledge of all aspects of mechanical work including pneumatics, hydraulics, repair, overhaul, and preventive maintenance. Essential Duties- Diagnoses, repairs, and maintains public swimming pools, water systems, filter systems, pumps, and attraction equipment.
- Respond to swimming pool related work orders in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery or equipment.
- Maintains regular, reliable, and punctual attendance. Position may require flexibility in hours and days worked and include some weekends or evenings.
- Maintain the proper chemical balance for the pool.
- Maintains the pH and Chlorine values for good water quality.
- Maintain the pool and all water features using proper chemicals and cleaners.
- Maintain the pool pumps and filters.
- Maintain the pool area including cleaning of the deck and other maintenance tasks.
- Transports and stores hazardous chemicals.
- Carrying out scheduled water cleaning, using chemicals like chlorine.
- Regularly testing swimming pool water quality and pH balance.
- Tests the chemical levels in public swimming pools and other water systems and adjusts as needed.
- Maintains manual or automated records of all activities and prepares daily / weekly / monthly reports.
- Operates and inspects tools and equipment and makes minor adjustments and repairs and orders equipment part when necessary.
- Troubleshooting independent pieces of equipment and determine parts request.
- Maintain stock of high use low cost parts and report such inventories to facilities director.
- Cleaning and servicing swimming pool filtration units.
- Servicing heating, circulation and de-humidifier systems.
- Use swimming pool vacuum cleaners to clean the pool floor.
- Use a telescopic pole with net to clean and remove any leaves or derbies.
- Making sure equipment like pool slides are in good working order.
- Logging and reporting equipment faults or water quality problems to Facilities Director.
- Work with facilities Director on parts orders, stock, or high use low cost parts.
- Completes and maintains daily safety checks for all attractions and all buildings.
- Assists the Facilities Director with annual safety inspections with NEPA and conducts any corrective actions necessary.
- Acts as liaison with all contractors/vendors for the maintenance department.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
- Respectfully takes direction from manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
High School or GED
Minimum QualificationThe ideal candidate would have three years of maintenance experience in a resort, managing maintenance, and water treatment operations. Have a working knowledge of NEPA and other governing agencies. Must have a strong background in water chemistry, pumps, electrical, and motors. Familiarity and experience with fiberglass are preferred but not required. Must have strong communication, organizational and problem‑solving skills and the ability to prioritize and respond to multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Ability to read, write and understand the English language. Reading/understanding printed instructions for chemical use and safe equipment operation is critical.
Must have a valid driver’s license. A certified Pool Operator License is required, or you can obtain one within the first six months of employment.
