Wiring Assembler II
Monday – Friday, 40-hour work week; overtime as necessary
McMinnville, Oregon
Reports To:
Electrical Department Manager
Purpose:
Responsible for completing wiring assemblies according to client and company specifications. Assists in the successful operation of the main shop, ensuring builds and repairs are performed in accordance with the company’s AS9100 classification.
Key Responsibilities:- Under limited supervision, perform varied duties related to wiring complex assemblies (e.g., wiring, connecting, soldering, and assembling circuit boards and other electronic equipment).
- Resolve moderately complex questions or problems while assisting other production assemblers.
- Work with a variety of hand tools, including wire cutters, wire strippers, screwdrivers, and wire twisters.
- Read and interpret technical work instructions, complex wiring drawings, and blueprints.
- Communicate with the Publications department regarding necessary edits or corrections.
- Accurately document procedures.
- Identify components, determine values, and complete measurements.
- Ensure all wiring-related tasks are performed safely, professionally, and on schedule.
- Collaborate with the lead to identify and streamline processes and take on additional responsibilities within the department.
- Assist other assemblers as needed to complete sub-assemblies and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the lead or manager.
The Wiring Assembler II should have a broad knowledge of assembly requirements, wiring concepts, and a high-level ability to interpret technical drawings.
- 3–5 years of experience in wiring, connecting, soldering, working with basic hand tools, and assembling circuit boards and other electronic equipment is required.
- Experience working to AS9100 standards and IPC/WHMA-A-620 training is preferred.
- Safely lift and carry heavy objects (with assistance if necessary).
- Work independently and meet strict deadlines.
- Remain in a stationary position for extended periods, alternating between sitting and standing.
- Visually inspect assemblies to ensure accuracy.
- Perform repetitive movements such as pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and stooping.
