Material Handler

This role is responsible for verifying and maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments, coordinating the receipt and shipment of materials and products, and overseeing the movement of materials throughout the production cycle. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to determine material requirements, monitor inventory and asset tracking, and ensure all activities follow established procedures and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and maintain detailed records of all incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and traceability.
  • Receive materials and products, inspect them as needed, and process them according to established procedures.
  • Prepare and ship materials and products, coordinating transportation and logistics to meet schedule requirements.
  • Plan, organize, and monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle to support efficient operations.
  • Coordinate daily activities with Purchasing, Production, and Engineering departments to align material flow with production needs.
  • Determine material requirements based on production schedules and ensure timely availability of required items.
  • Monitor inventory levels, asset tracking, and purchasing activities to maintain adequate stock and minimize shortages.
  • Perform accurate data entry in ERP systems and related tools to keep inventory and shipment records up to date.
  • Use RF scanners and other material handling tools to track and manage inventory movements.
  • Follow all company procedures, safety regulations, and attendance requirements to maintain a safe and reliable operation.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience with receiving materials and processing shipments in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency using RF scanners for inventory tracking and material movement.
  • Ability to work comfortably and effectively with an ERP system for data entry and inventory management.
  • Strong attention to detail for verifying shipment records and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Organizational skills to plan, prioritize, and monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple departments, including Purchasing, Production, and Engineering.
  • Basic data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Understanding and adherence to safety regulations and company procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with inventory control, asset tracking, or purchasing activities.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and production scheduling.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and production demands.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Comfort working with technology and learning new systems or tools as needed.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing environment within a plant setting. You will work under variable environmental conditions, including temperature instability and atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or vapors. There may be exposure to solvents and other industrial chemicals as part of normal operations. The role involves regular interaction with production areas, inventory storage, and shipping/receiving zones, with appropriate safety procedures and protective measures in place.

This is a Contract position based out of Mcminnville, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50/hr.
