HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
The Community Outreach Coordinator serves as an ambassador and public voice of the Safe Families for Children movement. This role is responsible for telling the story of this faith-based movement, increasing community visibility, and leading volunteer recruitment efforts through presentations, storytelling, written communications, and relationship-building. The position works collaboratively across all aspects of the Safe Families movement under the direct supervision of the Interventions Program Manager and collaborates with the Advancement team.
Weekend availability will be required during high peak church presentation season. This is a flexible part-time position at 20 hours per week.
- Serve as an ambassador and public voice of the Safe Families for Children movement, communicating the mission, values, and impact to churches, donors, businesses, and community partners
- Work with Parent Coach supervisors to pull together and share local stories of the Safe Families for Children movement, including its history, philosophy, and volunteer-based approach to family preservation
- Gather, write, and share compelling, trauma-informed stories of families, children, and volunteers, ensuring dignity, consent, and confidentiality
- Collaborate with the Communications specialist and Advancement team to write, edit, and produce regular newsletters highlighting program impact, family stories, volunteer engagement, and upcoming opportunities
- Collaborate with the Communications specialist to create and manage engaging social media content that amplifies the Safe Families for Children mission, stories, events, and calls to action
- Work with the District Volunteer coordinator to support a District approach to recruiting, training, supporting, appreciating and retaining volunteers.
- Conduct engaging presentations for community organizations, churches, and partner agencies to increase awareness and involvement
- Build and sustain strong relationships with churches and community partners through presentations, ongoing communication, and follow-up
- Representing Safe Families for Children at community events, meetings, and outreach opportunities
- Proactively build relationships with local businesses to cultivate support, sponsor ships, and partnerships that advance the Safe Families for Children movement
- Lead volunteer recruitment efforts, engaging churches, community partners, and individuals through presentations, storytelling, events, newsletters, and social media
- Recruit, inspire, and engage volunteers, and Leadership Council members to participate in Safe Families for Children programs in alignment with organizational values and program capacity
- Support donor engagement and broader community participation through storytelling, presentations, newsletters, and social media
