The Laboratory Technician / Analytical Chemist supports Laurelcrest manufacturing and quality operations by performing analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. This role is responsible for producing accurate, timely, and traceable results; maintaining laboratory instrumentation and records, and partnering with Quality and Operations to investigate issues and strengthen internal testing capabilities.

What You'll Do
  • Perform routine analytical testing in accordance with established methods and procedures, including operation of HPLC and other laboratory instrumentation.
  • Prepare samples, standards, reagents, solvents, mobile phases, calibration solutions, and required dilutions for analytical testing.
  • Perform instrument calibration, system suitability checks, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting; coordinate service or preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Review analytical results for accuracy and compliance with specifications; identify unusual or out-of-trend results and support investigations and corrective actions.
  • Maintain complete and traceable laboratory records, including test data, instrument logs, calibration records, sample records, and electronic documentation.
  • Follow sample identification, chain-of-custody, product sampling, retention, storage, chemical handling, and laboratory safety procedures.
  • Assist with correlation and comparison testing between Laurelcrest internal results and approved third-party laboratories.
  • Maintain an organized laboratory and ensure chemicals, standards, reference materials, samples, and consumables are properly labeled, stored, and accounted for.
  • Support laboratory SOPs, work instructions, and continuous-improvement initiatives focused on data quality, turnaround time, equipment reliability, and testing efficiency.
  • Partner with Quality, Production, R&D, and Operations to provide analytical information that supports manufacturing decisions and other business priorities.
  • Support Production activities which may include the staging of raw materials and packaging of completed hemp commodities
What You Bring
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field preferred; equivalent relevant laboratory experience may be considered.
  • Experience in an analytical, quality-control, manufacturing, environmental, food, pharmaceutical, cannabis/hemp, or similar laboratory environment preferred.
  • Hands-on HPLC experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of analytical chemistry fundamentals, sample preparation, dilution calculations, calibration, and quantitative analysis.
  • Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot sample, method, or instrumentation issues.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data integrity, documentation, and procedural consistency.
  • Ability to manage multiple samples and priorities while working independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; adaptable, self-motivated, and willing to learn new techniques.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, LIMS, or other electronic laboratory recordkeeping systems preferred.
