Ground Support Technician

Overview

Weyerhaeuser's Western Timberlands Division is seeking a full‑time truck driver/equipment operator to serve in both an aircraft hangar and forest environments. The role supports helicopter projects, equipment maintenance, and forestry operations across Oregon and Washington. The position is located in McMinnville, Oregon.

• Perform equipment inspections and assist with preventative and routine maintenance in hangar and field environments.
• Operate a front‑end loader to load granular fertilizer buckets into a hovering helicopter while meeting safety, environmental, production, and quality standards.
• Drive a fuel truck to work sites and fuel helicopters during flight operations.
• Drive a batch truck and mix/load pesticides into the helicopter.

  McMinnville, Oregon (also supports operations in Eugene, Oregon and Chehalis, Washington)
• Schedule:
  
  Full‑time day shift, first shift.
• Travel:
  Up to 20 % of the time, including occasional overnight travel and weekend work.
• Relocation assistance:
  Available.

• High School Diploma or GED (or higher).
• Minimum 1 year Class B CDL driving experience.
• Valid Fuel Truck operator Class B CDL with a Hazmat endorsement.
• Current DOT medical card.
• Clean driving record free of current incidents or citations.
• Safety‑conscious mindset with commitment to all safety procedures.
• Willingness to work with pesticides and obtain a state pesticide license (private).
• Ability to assist maintenance technicians with non‑aircraft maintenance work.
• Successful completion of a post‑offer drug screening and background check.

• Class A CDL with Tanker/Hazmat endorsement.
• Off‑road timberland driving experience.
• Experience operating various trucking and loading equipment.
• Experience fueling aircraft, including pressure fueling systems.
• Current private pesticide license in Oregon and Washington.

Compensation
:
Salary range of $54,118 – $81,248 based on skills, qualifications, and experience; eligible for annual merit‑increase and an annual incentive program (target cash bonus 5% of base pay).
