Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Safety Officer to assist with the implementation of all aspects of our health and safety programs. This individual will play a critical role in fostering a culture of safety excellence across all facets of our operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and helping to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain, develop, implement, and oversee company-wide safety programs, policies, and procedures
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, PHSMA, FERC, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations
• Lead safety training initiatives, including onboarding and ongoing employee education
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and incident investigations to identify risks and implement corrective actions
• Collaborate with project managers and field superintendents to promote safe work practices
• Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation
• Serve as one of the primary points of contact for all safety-related matters
• Promote a proactive safety culture across all levels of the organization
Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of safety management experience, preferably in pipeline construction or related field
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, PHMSA, DOT, FERC, and other applicable governing regulations
• Proven leadership ability and experience managing safety teams and programs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft applications
• Ability to travel to job sites as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (strongly preferred)
• Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician)
• Experience working in pipeline or energy sector environments
