HowYou'll Contribute
This role involves transporting heavy equipment and materials to and from job sites, operating a variety of vehicle types, and occasionally supporting field crews when not driving. The ideal candidate has experience with construction logistics, CDL driving, and load securement practices.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including dump trucks, water trucks, lowboys, flatbeds, roll‑offs, pickups with trailers, and service trucks.
- Transport equipment (e.g., excavators, skid steers, compaction equipment) and materials (e.g., pipe, rebar, spoils, aggregates) between PLi job sites.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and ensure roadworthiness and cleanliness.
- Maintain safe operation in all weather and road conditions.
- Assist with site support tasks when not driving, including material handling, fueling, or general labor as directed by the Superintendent.
- Follow all company and DOT safety protocols and procedures.
- Represent PLi professionally with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
Physical Requirements
- Maintain consistently high safety standards, regulatory compliance, and superior project outcomes by taking full ownership of work assigned.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other key stakeholders by providing exceptional service and addressing concerns proactively.
- Be able to lift and secure heavy chains, tarps, and binders (up to 75 lbs).
- Frequent climbing, bending, and exposure to outdoor elements.
- Work is performed in and out of commercial vehicles and on active construction sites; must be safety‑aware at all times.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class
A) with Air Brake endorsement. - Clean driving record.
- Strong knowledge of load securement procedures and practices.
- Able to safely operate and maneuver trailers and large equipment on job sites and public roads.
- Experience operating loading equipment (skid steer, forklift) is a plus but not required.
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant construction trucking experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen, background check, and driving record check.
- Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Salary commensurate with experience (hourly pay $20–$28).

- Work within a 90‑mile radius; limited travel.
- Variety of projects including building construction, civil work, industrial piping, landscaping, planning, concrete, utilities, water infrastructure, and alternative delivery building work.
