Part-Time Instructor, English; Outreach Locations

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach assigned courses in Comp. I and II,transfercurriculum,and/or developmental composition. Teaching assignments may include evening courses and teaching via alternative delivery systems, such as Zoom and ITV.
• Assignmentsmayincludeface-to-faceteaching at variouslocalhigh school locations and travel toMcPherson and/orNewton
  
  Outreachlocations. High school semesters may extend beyond theHutchCCacademic calendar.
• Plan and implement appropriate activities to supplement instruction.
• Plan, revise, and update curricula as assigned by the department chairperson.
• Maintain records and files as requested by the department, includingsubmittinggradesin a timely manner.
• Logon to the learning management system daily, respond to emails regularly,and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position.
• Arrive on time for work, attendworkregularly, and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position.
• Comply with
  
  HutchCCpolicies, procedures,and practices.

Secondary –

• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the department chairperson,the Outreach Center Coordinator,Associate Director of Outreach,or theVicePresident ofAcademic
  
  Affairs.

• Master’s degree in English is requiredor aMaster’sdegree in another field may be considered with an additional
  18 graduate credits in English.
• College teaching experience preferred.
• Ability and willingness to teach via alternative delivery systems.
• Ability to develop andmaintaineffective professional relationships.
• Ability to communicate professionally with individuals from diverse ethnic, racial, socioeconomic, gender anddisabilitiespopulations.
• Physical requirements include: excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills; ability to understand words and respond effectively and appropriately; visual acuity to view a computer terminal; use appropriate judgment and apply tact and courtesy indifficult situations; light/indoor work environment.
• Mental requirements include the ability to learn andcomprehendbasic instructions about the position.

The hired candidate will be required to submit official, non-issued to student transcripts.

The salary is based on the part-time faculty compensation plan. This part-time position isnot benefit eligible; exempt.
