Maintenance Engineer - JLL
What this job involvesAs a Maintenance Engineer at JLL, you will keep critical building systems running smoothly while planning for the future. You will own preventive maintenance programs, coordinate vendors, and develop maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize asset performance.
What your day-to-day will look like- Inspect equipment, diagnose issues, and make adjustments to reduce downtime.
- Provide input to the planning of equipment system maintenance using reliability‑centered maintenance practices.
- Execute a variety of maintenance and repair work for boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, and building infrastructure.
- Oversee daily operations and maintenance activities performed by JLL and/or contract personnel; mentor and guide staff.
- Perform complex operating procedures for high‑pressure steam boilers, lab utilities, emergency generators, propane vaporizer, etc.
- Conduct scheduled tours of the boiler plant, chiller plant, lab utility equipment, cooling towers, emergency generator rooms, switch gear rooms, air handling machine rooms, steam stations and condensate return systems.
- Complete tours and watches according to schedule, report status.
- Respond to emergencies after hours, identify problems, and take corrective action.
- Maintain all engineering and electrical spaces clean and neat.
- Review work orders, logs, and documentation to ensure completeness and proper filing in CMMS.
- Ensure safety, environmental, and site standards are adhered to; comply with OSHA, building codes, and JLL policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in engineering, facilities management, or related technical field.
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience in building maintenance or facilities operations.
- Experience planning and scheduling maintenance using CMMS platforms.
- Working knowledge of building automation, system controls, and fire alarm systems.
- Proficient computer and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Ability to work independently and plan work without direct supervision.
- Relevant trade certifications such as HVAC, electrical license, or Certified Facility Manager.
- Proficiency with Maximo, Corrigo, or other CMMS platforms and Direct Digital Control systems.
- Project management experience, including vendor management, budget oversight, and contractor coordination.
