Position OverviewCareer Links is seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join a hospital-based rehabilitation team serving both inpatient and outpatient populations. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the OTA will provide skilled occupational therapy services to patients recovering from illness, injury, surgery, neurological conditions, and other medical diagnoses.
This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population while collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Responsibilities- Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve activities of daily living (ADLs), functional mobility, coordination, strength, endurance, cognition, and overall independence.
- Monitor patient progress and communicate treatment responses, concerns, and changes in condition to the Occupational Therapist.
- Accurately document treatment sessions, patient progress, and outcomes in accordance with hospital, state, federal, and payer requirements.
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, and safety techniques.
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, physicians, nursing staff, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist with discharge planning and continuity of care recommendations.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and effective treatment environment.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, professional standards, and ethical guidelines.
- Graduate of an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
. - Current Kansas Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) License issued by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts, or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date.
- Current NBCOT certification or eligibility as required for Kansas licensure.
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
