Machine Operator - Press Brake $16-$19/hr DOE
Full Time:
Monday-Friday, 1st Shift, 6:30am - 3:00pm
This role involves receiving, processing, storing, and distributing metal, operating specialized equipment and supporting warehouse functions with a focus on safety and precision. Key responsibilities include advanced production on Press Brake machines to produce precision parts, packaging orders, inventory movement, and warehouse upkeep.
Job Functions- Review blueprints, work orders, tooling instructions, and other specifications.
- Determine processing specifications: materials, forms, sizes, surface conditions, dimensions, tolerances, and operational sequences.
- Ensure correct material is used per work orders.
- Coordinate and execute material handling.
- Position work pieces for processing (may operate different machines).
- Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and material onto machine.
- Select and monitor speeds, feeds, controls, and tooling.
- Determine operation sequence for various materials and conditions.
- Create complicated or irregular parts per drawings, ensuring proper blocking and clamping.
- Operate various machines as required.
- Measure and examine parts with precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, scales, squares) to ensure conformance.
- Perform in-process and finished product quality inspections.
Skills & Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License.
- 0-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience.
- Manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm‑hand steadiness, and multi‑limbed coordination.
- Reading and comprehending written instructions.
- Basic measurement skills: length, width, height, weight, and basic math.
- Basic arithmetic skills for decimals and fractions.
- Multi‑tasking, prioritizing, and time management.
- Decision‑making skills based on knowledge, experience, and judgment.
- Certification to operate motorized material handling and rigging equipment.
- Basic computer proficiency and software knowledge.
- Warehousing and material handling experience (preferred).
- High School diploma/GED (preferred).
- Lifting: 60 lbs repetitively / 100 lbs occasionally.
- Pushing: with 80 lbs of force.
- Pulling: with 80 lbs of force.
- Sitting: occasionally.
- Standing: for sustained periods.
- Walking: moving about on foot.
- Climbing: stairs, ladders, scaffolding, trucks.
- Stooping: bending torso.
- Balancing: maintaining equilibrium.
- Kneeling: rest on knees.
- Crawling: on hands and knees or feet.
- Reaching: e.g., reach 100‑pound object 36 inches from wall.
- Talking: in a manner sufficient to be understood.
- Hearing: normal hearing to respond to shop whistle and signals.
