Job Description Summary

The DC Team Member II is responsible for determining the daily work schedule via work board instructions and receiving directions from the Lead Team Member and Supervisor; filling and completing customer orders according to specified instructions; combining orders with the same ship identification numbers; performing 6S activities; and assisting and answering DC Team Member I as necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Daily Schedule
    • Perform daily tasks as identified by the work board, following directions from the Lead Team Member and Supervisor.
    • Work overtime as scheduled.
  • Equipment
    • Inspect and document equipment before use; report defects or damage immediately.
    • Operate PI equipment safely.
    • Utilize the following equipment:
      Order picker, Pallet Jack (Short and Long), Counterbalance (Stand Up and Sit Down).
  • Picking and Packing
    • Picks inventory, places in containers, transports to packing lanes, verifies quantity with scanner instructions, moves product into final shipping container, labels container, confirms in Viad@t, transports to designated shipping area, and ensures orders are accurate and efficient.
    • Scans and picks coils and fittings with the order picker according to customer orders.
    • Picks and labels straight lengths; transports to shipping docks using forklift.
    • Assists with packaging materials for shipping as per instructions or customer requirements, ensuring legible and accurate labels.
    • Manually loads coils and bundles onto trucks for shipping based on the computer-generated work order or verbal instruction.
  • Safety
    • Comply with the safety rules of the department and position; report unsafe acts and conditions via SOSPES.
  • Slips, Trips and Falls
    • Be aware of uneven or elevated surfaces when walking.
    • Keep aisles clear.
    • Use caution on wet surfaces and wipe up spills.
    • Use handrails on stairs.
    • Use approved step stools and ladders; do not stand on chairs.
    • Walk, don’t run.
    • Report deficient conditions to maintenance.
    • Use caution in parking lots.
  • Good Housekeeping
    • Maintain a clean and uncluttered work environment.
    • Do not overload wastebaskets.
  • Safe Lifting
    • Use proper techniques when lifting heavy objects.
    • Ask for help when needed.
  • Equipment (Additional)
    • Only use equipment that is in good repair.
    • Report equipment hazards immediately to supervisor or manager.
  • Monitoring Logistics Quality
    • Maintain facility and equipment checklists; perform cleanliness, 6S functions, and forklift inspections.
    • Promote error proofing and communicate potential problems to the supervisor.
    • Ensure pallets are high quality, stable, labeled correctly, and damage‑free.
    • Maintain accurate inventory levels and resolve discrepancies.
    • Focus on quality improvement and maintain high standards to deliver correct orders on time.
    • Work with leadership to develop personal improvement plans.
    • Contribute to process changes in response to errors and correct technical errors from manufacturing and vendors.
    • Support ISO
      9001 quality initiatives.
  • Cleaning and Area Upkeep
    • Maintain a clean work environment and perform 6S activities.
  • Other
    • Answer questions and assist DC Team Member I as needed.
    • Perform other duties as required.
    • Travel up to 10% of the time.
Qualifications
  • Safety-minded.
  • Basic math knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of proper lifting techniques.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems.
  • Can read and understand information presented.
  • Can operate material handling equipment, including forklift and pallet jack.
  • Can lift and move heavy or bulky items weighing 50 pounds or more.
  • Can communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Pay close attention to detail.
  • Can perform with superior service, reflect positive company image, and maintain a positive attitude with all interactions.

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or combination of education and work experience.
  • 6–17 months of related experience.
  • Warehouse Management Systems experience preferred.
  • Lean experience preferred.
Compensation
  • Base: $18.25 hourly, based on compensable factors.
  • Eligible for a discretionary annual bonus program.
