Production Operator
Join our team in McPherson, known for its vibrant community and strong industrial presence. As part of our production operations, you will be responsible for the assembly of components following product specifications, engineering drawings, work orders, and quality procedures. You will be cross-trained in various tasks, including grinding, completing assembly checklists, testing parts, and monitoring stock bins. Training will include the use of hand and pneumatic tools.
You will report to the Production Supervisor and the Plant Manager.
The typical working hours for this role are 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. Overtime hours may be available or required according to business needs and within the parameters of any applicable federal/state laws.
Responsibilities- Assemble components according to blueprints, routers, work orders, checklists, and specifications to build, assemble, and test parts and finished goods that meet quality standards accurately and timely.
- Accurately complete assembly checklists.
- Monitor stock bins in the work area and report stock needs to Shop Floor Lead(s).
- Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures.
- Adhere to the company Code of Conduct.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work effectively unsupervised.
- Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues and create solutions.
- Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement changes in processes and procedures as needed.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to understand and interpret drawings, BOMs, and procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

- Regularly required to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Stand and/or walk for 10 hours a day, with minimal breaks.
- Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds independently or up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Vision abilities include close and distance vision, color distinction, and the ability to observe small handwriting, labels, and components.
- Always required to wear steel-toed shoes and safety glasses.
- Required to wear hearing protection in designated areas.
- Must be on-site during scheduled shifts to perform daily duties and responsibilities.
- Requires daily face-to-face interaction and communication with employees on the production line and management.
The employee will typically work on the production shop floor, which does not have controlled temperatures and will vary based on weather conditions. There is occasional exposure to fumes and minimal to moderate noise.
