Provides professional nursing care under supervision for clinic patients.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities- Maintains and updates Healthy Connection online portal and communications; greets patients, prepares them for physician examination, screens for appropriate information, instructs patients in collection of samples and tests, and arranges for patient testing and admissions.
- Observes, records, and reports patient condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
- Formulates and updates patient care plans through EMR system.
- Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physician and nurses during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
- Performs diagnostic x-ray procedures as directed by physicians; verifies exam order, dresses patient appropriately, elicits pertinent information from chart or patient, explains procedure, positions patient, selects appropriate cassette size and exposure factors.
- Prepares studies for radiology: completes procedure information on appropriate forms, writes diagnosis on charge ticket, types relevant information into RIS, retrieves old studies for comparison, verifies images on PACS and labels correctly before taking paperwork to reading room.
- Performs venipunctures and prepares samples in compliance with clinic standards.
- Works a flexible/rotating schedule as needed for appropriate coverage, including Saturdays.
- Performs related work as required.
- Provide general nursing care to patients.
- Execute physician and mid-level orders with guidance from nursing staff.
- Prepare patient record in a complete and accurate manner.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude and appearance.
- Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
- Observe all clinic guidelines and policies.
Experience:
Up to six months of similar or related experience.
Education:
Equivalent to a high school education.
Interpersonal
Skills:
Requires a significant level of trust and diplomacy, courtesy, good attitude, tact, effective communication, extensive personal contact, motivating or influencing others, teamwork, and fostering relationships with external entities.
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
