Position: Inspection - Quality Control Specialist I

Milacron is looking for a 2nd Shift Inspector – Simulation to join our team in McPherson, KS
. In this position, you will be responsible for inspecting and simulating new and rebuilt screws to specific tolerances, operating simulation equipment to verify screw specifications, and supporting quality standards across multiple departments.

Work You’ll Do:
  • Create check-in cards for use with job travelers.
  • Set up and operate simulation equipment to check gaps between screws.
  • Inspect screws at various stages including CNC, Thread mill, Finish Inspect, and Pre-Inspect operations.
  • Verify screw dimensions and specifications against engineering blueprints.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with required tolerances.
  • Identify and document quality issues during inspection processes.
  • Lift, position, and transport work pieces using a hoist.
  • Utilize job-specific hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with production, machining, and quality teams to resolve issues and maintain workflow.
  • Support inspection activities related to machining, nitriding, chrome plating, coatings, and screw modifications.
Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of shop mathematics and quality inspection practices.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to safely operate hoists and handle work pieces.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Technical School Certificate preferred.
Schedule:
  • Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM
  • Overtime and Saturdays required as needed
Team:
  • Work within one of three inspection groups:
    Simulation, Digital, and Finish Inspection.
  • Join a team of approximately 10 associates working across multiple shifts.
