- Able to perform proper diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair and replacement of parts on customers and Fleet vehicles
- Ability to transcribe and explain the complaint, cause and correction of internal and external customer vehicles on the back of every Repair Order (RO).
- Heavy Duty experience required
- Diesel engine repair experience required
- Ensure all proper documentation and printouts are with every repair order
- Ensure all media is captured on every RO (video, pictures, and multipoint inspections)
- Correct and accurate multipoint inspections on every RO
- Returning customers vehicles in same condition or cleaner than it was received
- Bring issues to Service Manager of any issues with customer vehicles
- Ensure the repair was properly performed with proper test drive and out mileage included on repair orders
- Ability to communicate effectively with Service Advisor and all departments
- Conducts oneself professionally with employees and customers
- Proper company provided work attire to be always worn
- Keep up with needed training as provided by Ford Motor Company as required for current position
- Responsible to keep work area cleaned
- Remove scrap from work area on the daily
- Meet with Manager/Shop Foreman to be made aware of the work schedule and current tasks
- Knows how to use the necessary tools and equipment.
- Reports damaged equipment/tools to manager and returns special tools to tool room
- Adheres to safety regulations and industry standards.
- Communicate with the Parts Department to obtain the needed parts.
- Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
- Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, governing service repair work.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strive for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all departments.
- Maintains workplace safety throughout the Corporation.
- 3-5 years' experience as a Service Technician
- Brand Service experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to speak and listen effectively one on one.
- Ability to interpret customer/technician needs.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license.
