Our office, Triangle Implant Center - Mebane in Mebane, NC is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Insurance Coordinator to join our busy specialty practice. This role is essential in ensuring our patients receive the maximum benefits from their insurance coverage while maintaining compliance with billing and insurance regulations.
Job SummaryAs an Insurance Coordinator, you will play a vital role in managing insurance claims and ensuring accurate, timely processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of dental billing, coding, and insurance policies, including Medicaid and NC Tracks, while also providing excellent support to patients and our clinical/administrative teams.
Your Responsibilities- Verify patients’ dental insurance coverage and benefits
- Communicate with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations for treatments
- Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage and estimated costs
- Submit accurate and timely insurance claims electronically and via mail
- Follow up on outstanding insurance claims, appeals, and denials
- Manage insurance claims efficiently, ensuring timely submission and follow-up
- Communicate with healthcare providers, clients, and insurance companies to resolve discrepancies or issues related to claims
- Maintain organized files and records of all insurance-related documents
- Stay updated on changes in Medicaid regulations and insurance policies
- Collaborate with the front desk and clinical teams to ensure accurate patient information and treatment codes
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing insurance-related inquiries and concerns
- Educate patients on available payment options for uncovered services
- Provide clerical support as needed
- Help facilitate/coordinate other office responsibilities as needed
- Previous experience in a similar role (dental insurance, billing, or coding) is preferred
- Proven experience in insurance claims processing (including Medicaid and NC Tracks) is highly valued
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Familiarity with dental practice management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Knowledge of dental documentation requirements and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, and insurance representatives
- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
- Problem-solving skills to address insurance claim discrepancies and denials
- Professional, patient-centric attitude with a strong commitment to customer service
