We are seeking a Buyer to support purchasing activities within a manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, components, supplies, and services needed to support day-to-day production and operations.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting while collaborating with vendors and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities- Manage purchasing activities for raw materials, components, MRO supplies, packaging, equipment, and other operational needs.
- Create and manage purchase orders from requisition through delivery.
- Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and deliveries to help ensure materials are available when needed.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and vendor information within the ERP system.
- Assist with vendor setup and supplier evaluations.
- Support inventory management, replenishment, and inventory counts.
- Partner with production, operations, quality, engineering, finance, and Accounts Payable to resolve purchasing and invoice-related issues.
- Provide purchasing and receiving documentation to support invoice processing and three-way matching.
- Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, efficiency, and cost management.
- Assist with special projects and other purchasing-related initiatives as needed.
- 3–5 years of purchasing or procurement experience
, preferably within manufacturing. - Experience purchasing raw materials, components, MRO supplies, or other manufacturing-related goods
. - Experience using an ERP system for purchasing;
Net Suite or similar ERP experience preferred. - Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and vendor relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
- Process improvement mindset and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
