Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Duke Primary Care Mebane

$10,000 Commitment Bonus for Eligible Candidates

Duke Primary Care Mebane provides expert, personalized care for patients of all ages. The clinic offers a full range of primary care services, including annual physicals, health screenings, sick visits, immunizations, and chronic disease management for both adults and children. Specialized services include diabetes education, women's health exams, and preventive care, while pediatric services focus on growth and development, wellness, and the management of acute and chronic conditions.

Focused on preventive care and long-term wellness, the team delivers compassionate support at every stage of life.

Location:

1352 Mebane Oaks Road, Mebane, North Carolina 27302

Hours:

8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday

What you will do:
  • Administer medications and IV fluids as prescribed by the doctor and maintain records.
  • Provide direct care to patients under the supervision of a nurse or doctor.
  • Follow the doctor's orders and nursing care plan for patient care.
  • Report patient responses to care to a nurse for evaluation and adjustments to the care plan.
  • Assist other healthcare staff in delivering patient care.
  • Help doctors and nurses with diagnostic procedures.
  • Assess nursing care, patient responses, and prioritize nursing tasks.
  • Help develop and implement policies to ensure patient comfort and safety and participate in creating new policies.
  • Contribute to maintaining the care environment, including equipment and supplies.
  • Identify and assist in improving clinical and operational performance.
  • Assist in managing supplies and equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the charge nurse.
  • Participate in training programs and help train new staff.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.
What you will need:

Education
  • Work requires graduation from an approved or accredited Practical Nurse program.
Experience
  • No experience required.
Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification
  • Current State of North Carolina LPN licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) required.
Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Ability to find resources independently and work well with others
  • Clear communication with patients, families, visitors, healthcare team, and leadership; able to teach patients and families based on the care plan
  • Ability to process and prioritize information, treatment, and follow-up using sensory and cognitive functions
  • Competent in BLS and other required life support certifications
  • Proficient in fine motor skills
  • Accurately record activities and document interventions
  • Ability to use computers and learn new software
  • Navigate the healthcare system to provide patient care
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods
  • Stay focused and organized
  • Knowledge of sterile techniques and special procedures relevant to the role
  • Familiarity with administering routine and special treatments to patients
  • Understanding of sanitation, hygiene, and health safety in a hospital setting
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures and safety precautions
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of and compliance with JCAHO and other regulatory requirements
