You’ll be responsible for programming, operating, and monitoring multiple machines to produce high-quality fins according to work order specifications. This is a hands‑on role requiring attention to detail, teamwork, and a proactive mindset.
- Inspect cooling packages to ensure they meet blueprint specifications.
- Complete and maintain inspection reports for all inspected products.
- Inspect castings prior to use in the welding department and label storage containers accordingly.
- Use a drill to verify placement on specific coolers and tag non-conforming products.
- Report quality issues to supervisors or appropriate personnel promptly.
- Adhere to AKG’s environmental management system policies.
- Maintain regular attendance as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Operate a forklift to move racks, crates, and skids as needed.
- Assist with calibration projects under the Quality Administrator.
- Support warranty technicians by inspecting returned products for quality issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of prior experience as a quality inspector in manufacturing.
- Availability to work the agreed-upon shift.
- Forklift certification required (training may be provided).
- Ability to walk (80%) and sit (20%) of the time.
- Occasional bending, stooping, pulling, pushing, twisting, and turning.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (25% of the time).
- Use of a chain hoist, pallet jack, hand truck, and power tools.
- Required safety equipment includes steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
Ability to read and understand detailed blueprint instructions.
Proficiency in basic mathematics and measuring tools.
Familiarity with various computer programs.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
