This position reports to:
Production Development Manager

The work model for the role is:
Onsite, Mebane, NC

Your role and responsibilities

In this role as ELSP Supplier Quality Specialist, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of supplier assessments, drive both corrective and preventive actions based on supplier maturity and performance levels. Each day, you will manage operational supplier quality, both on-site and off-site, ensuring the thorough execution of supplier qualification and development processes. You will also showcase your expertise by managing the supplier's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Driving approval process for supplier parts, materials, and project subcontractor services, as applicable, involving collaboration with other functions/experts, encompassing activities like Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and product surveillance at supplier manufacturing sites.
  • Leading in promptly addressing supply issues related to quality, deliveries, non-compliant products, or project services.
  • Working together with buyers to engage suppliers and prepare claims cases when necessary.
  • Ensuring required supplier development processes are thoroughly executed to drive continuous improvement of the supplier base.
  • Track and monitor scorecards of supplier performances. Assign Corrective and Preventative Actions to improve supplier performances

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor degree in a technical field or engineering discipline PLUS minimum 2 years experience supplier quality processes
  • Proficiency with measurement tools (meters, calipers, gauges, etc.)
  • Demonstrate understanding of quality procedures and concepts
  • Demonstrated lean manufacturing participation;
    Demonstrated HSE participation and support.
  • Must have the flexibility to rotate and flex to any area of production, as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
