Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Evaluate Methods:
    Design, create, and execute scientific methods to develop and optimize chemical processes for the reduction of end‑of‑life textile waste. Lead key development projects and innovate / identify new techniques related to purification.
  • Conduct Laboratory Work:
    Support development and standardization of analytical test methods, laboratory procedures, specifications, and quality control protocols. Conduct routine and non‑routine laboratory testing while ensuring accuracy, reproducibility, and compliance with established procedures.
  • Analyze and Interpret Data:
    Interpret and analyze experimental results, drawing sound scientific conclusions to guide and accelerate our research and development efforts.
  • Communicate Findings:
    Clearly and concisely communicate observations and conclusions through both verbal and written formats, including formal presentations and detailed documentation.
  • Collaborate Globally:
    Work effectively as a part of an international, interdisciplinary team, contributing to a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Maintain Lab Integrity:
    Ensure an organized and safe laboratory and facility environment by strictly adhering to all safety protocols and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience:

    5+ years of experience in the development of chemical processes, with a strong preference for experience within an R&D or pilot facility setting.
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Textile Engineering, or a related technical field with a strong academic background.
  • Analytical

    Skills:

    Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with hands‑on experience in a variety of analytical techniques, including High‑Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA).
  • Collaboration:

    Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work successfully in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
  • Research Mindset:
    Proven ability to perform multidisciplinary research and a strong passion for the field of textile recycling and sustainability.
  • Project Management:
    An understanding of the key requirements for a successful research project, including managing time and resources effectively to meet project goals.
  • Professional

    Skills:

    Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
  • Are fluent in English both orally and in writing (professional English required).

You will be reporting to the Sr Technical Fellow and preferably be located in North Carolina, USA.
