Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician at Jabil, Inc. is responsible for performing a variety of skilled duties to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and facilities, ensuring optimal operational efficiency and safety.
Job Responsibilities- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on production machinery, facility equipment, and building systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on manufacturing equipment, including but not limited to SMT lines, automated assembly machines, and test equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical control problems, including PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) issues, motor controls, and sensor malfunctions.
- Perform routine inspections to identify potential problems and proactively address them to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to aid in troubleshooting and repair.
- Complete necessary documentation for maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and parts requisitions.
- Collaborate with production teams to understand equipment performance issues and implement effective solutions.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or vocational certification in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance role, preferably in an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical systems (up to 480V), including motor controls, sensors, and PLCs.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with various hand and power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and work order management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Availability for on-call duties and shift work as required.
